Tall grass JD Z-turn stalls now won't start

I was mowing in very thick grass today(hubby in hospital, just trying to help out), and the mower bogged down & stalled. I could not get it to even turn over. I towed it back to the yard out of the thick grass and it still won't start. Any ideas?
